EU allows resumption of imports of Ukrainian poultry

Ukraine, a major supplier of poultry products, said that the European Union had lifted all limits on Ukrainian poultry exports imposed last year, reports Reuters. Ukraine reported an outbreak of bird flu among backyard birds in the southern part of the country in early December 2020 and since then exports have been suspended. The overall export of poultry meat from Ukraine rose 4% in 2020 to 431,000 tonnes.

Production of fishmeal and fish oil up by 6%, reports IFFO

During the first 11 months (January to November) of 2021, the total cumulative productions of both fishmeal and fish oil of the countries considered in the report which IFFO produces for its Members were higher, year on year, by 6%. Prices of chicken and eggs will go up even higher if there is no government intervention, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
