International Egg Commission has recognized Srinivasa Farms Founder and Chairman, Mr. Jagapati Rao Chitturi with a Lifetime achievement award for his service to the Egg industry. In a year when India has become 2nd in global egg production, Shri Chitturi Jagapati Rao’s contribution to India’s food security, and Indian Economy are timely recognized. IEC’s Global Leadership Conference held last week ata Canada, where Mr. Chitturi Jagapati Rao was honoured with the Denis Wellstead Award for ‘International Egg Person of the Year’, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the Indian poultry sector.
Mr Chitturi has worked tirelessly since founding his business Srinivasa Hatcheries Group in 1965.
A diverse portfolio of products and services of Srinivasa group include Poultry Breeding (Layer & Broiler), Animal Feed Production, Animal Health & Nutrition, Soya extractions, Chicken Processing, Chicken Retail, Value Added Products, Retail Eggs & Mega Food Park. The business operations are spread across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and further expanding rapidly across pan India. During this time, he has collaborated closely with the governments to streamline processes for the industry, creating better employment opportunities and raising the calibre of poultry products.
Born and raised in a farmers’ family in the village Kulla of East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh, India, Mr. Chitturi’s farsightedness on the evolution of the poultry Industry bears testimony to the fact that he has envisioned a great future for India many decades ago.
Mr. Rao is on the board of the company as Chairman of Srinivasa Farms. Mr. Jagapati Rao was Founder Member of National Egg Co-ordination Committee (NECC).He was also associated with multiple poultry groups as a mentor and was consulted for his rich experience as a pioneer in the Industry. Sri Jagapati Rao is also a member of the International Egg Commission (IEC) based in the UK.
